What to do on a rainy afternoon in Nob Hill

On Brandon: sweater - thrifted, shirt - Topman, pants - H&M, shoes - Van's
On me: blazer - H&M, dress - c/o my sister-in-law, belt - thrifted, boots - Nords
I think almost everyone who has ever visited or lived in Portland, has an opinion about the Northwest neighborhood. Nob Hill, Alphabet district, Northwest 23rd, whatever you want to call it, most people have lived in this neighborhood at some point, particularly when first moving to Portland. And while it can be labeled as "touristy" or "trendy" it's actually a beautiful area of Portland with a lot of great things going on. I particularly love watching the Vaux's swifts in September and catching a movie at Cinema 21 (oh my gosh they are hosting an Alfred Hitchcock festival!!)
Last weekend, we met up with our friends Brandt and Rochelle in Nob Hill initially to go karaoke, but then it led to a few of my other favorite things.

Voice box
Private room karaoke just like in Japan. I used to like going here a few years ago when we were a little more shy about singing in public. Now it's a great practice space AND they have really good rates during their happy hour. When we were there on Saturday, there were hosting lots of kids birthday parties, but fortunately the walls are sound-proof so they couldn't hear us practicing our explicit rap songs.

Swagat
I am such a sucker for old school Portland restaurants. I'll write a blog post later about some of my favorite establishments, but Swagat is one of my favorite spots to go in Portland for Indian food.

Peculiarium
We finally got to check this place out and it was awesome! I wish I had a chance to try their Frankenballs. Here's some pics we took from that evening:
