Old high school clothes, new awesome bracelet

blazer & belt - thrifted, shirt - UO, jeans & boots - Nordstrom
Since I'm already on a kick talking about adolescence, I'll continue today. I got this blazer at a thrift store when I was in high school. It came with a matching skirt and at that time I had no concept on how clothes should fit and how to wear it. However now looking at it, I'm sure it was an inspiration for my vegetable design to get into college.
I'm glad I hung on to this jacket because it's one of my favorite clothing items I own, and it fits so well.

This afternoon I had happy hour with a jeweler named Jennie McCall. We met a few weeks ago in a CE class at PNCA. When she introduced herself and explained she made jewelry, my initial reaction was "oh, hmm that's nice". But the next day she brought in her stuff and I instantly fell in love. Check out this bracelet I bought from her this evening:

She uses scrap metal and recycled leather. Also this piece is inspired by the Moab Arches. I'm not sure my explanation can do it justice, but she told me that she took a photo while she was at the Arches, then somehow printed it on the metal.  Something about a darkroom and a flash. Old materials, new friends - love it.

  3. This is the best invention ever. I always had a hard time putting on my bracelets in the morning, but this makes it a cinch.
